Architectural Patterns

In the many different environments I have been working in I have had the chance to implement and manage a lot of different architectures. From on premis monoliths like Magento, Navision, SAP, through SaaS solutions like Salesforce to PaaS solutions like commercetools, unleashed & co. up until inhouse developed microservice architectures.

In the recent years enterprise architectures, from small to large organisations, have seen a development into the direction of best of bread architectures. Focussing on the core capabilities of an organisation and doing these extremely well, is supported by an architecture that allows utilising external solutions (whether cloud based, dockerised open source solutions or other), integrated through a GraphQL driven integration layer, to the fullest, giving the engineering resources focus on proprietary domains or strategic differentiators.
