Ruby is syntactically probably one of the leaner object oriented programming languages. With high focus on readibility it is probably also one of the easiest to maintain. Then there are the many frameworks which build on ruby, ruby on rails, sinatra, probably being the best known. Frameworks which support many different use cases. This makes Ruby an easy to implement technology which can be made to deliver value very quickly.
